What We Believe

St. Paul is a church which . . .

  • Preaches the Gospel. We believe that our main job is to share the good news that sins are freely forgiven for Jesus’ sake. Our job is not to promote social or political causes. Mark 16:15-16.

  • Is faithful to the Bible. We believe that the Bible is God’s holy word, that it contains no errors or myths, and that it’s the only book which can show us how to be saved and how to live the Christian life. Psalm 19:7-11.

  • Condemns sin. We believe that all people are sinful by nature and would be eternally lost without faith in Christ. We proclaim repentance and forgiveness for sins, not removal of ‘guilt feelings’ for sins. Luke 24:46-47, 2 Peter 3:8-9.

  • Reaches out. We hold precious the common faith that unites us and we have a desire to share it with everyone. Romans 10:14-15.

We want you to know the joy of complete pardon and peace with God through Christ! We warmly invite you to join us for worship services every Sunday at 9:30 am. (Adult instruction classes in the basic teachings of the Bible are also available upon request.)

We are affiliated with other like-minded churches in a synod called the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC). In North America, the CLC comprises approximately 9,000 souls in 75 congregations. The CLC is also in fellowship with a number of like-minded confessional Lutheran church bodies in Africa, India, and southeast Asia.
